Three-Pronged Approach

At Linden Grove School, education goes beyond academics. We are committed to nurturing creative, compassionate, and confident learners who are prepared for success in school and in life. Guided by the Ohio Department of Education Learning Standards, our program blends strong academics with social-emotional learning, and therapeutic supports.

Academics

Small class sizes and low teacher-to-student ratios (1:3 to 1:7) allow for highly individualized instruction, ensuring every child is supported and actively engaged. Our teachers are trained in research-based interventions and instructional methods—including Orton-Gillingham, TouchMath, and Lindamood-Bell—proven to help students achieve at every grade level.

Beyond core academics, students explore specialty courses in coding, robotics, and LEGO® Education, developing creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. They also grow as empathetic community members through service-learning projects, our community garden, and multicultural lessons and activities. Together, these experiences help students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Social-Emotional Learning

We believe social and emotional growth is just as important as academics. Developing these skills is essential for success not only in the classroom, but also in everyday life. That’s why we intentionally prioritize social-emotional learning through structured instruction and ongoing support.

Every student takes part in daily social skills classes designed to strengthen self-awareness, self-regulation, coping strategies, and interpersonal skills. Using the evidence-based Interoception program, students also build body awareness and learn how to better understand and respond to their body cues.

By weaving social-emotional learning into the school day, we help students gain the confidence, resilience, and skills they need to thrive—both in their academic journey and in life beyond school.

Therapeutic Supports

Support services are built into every child’s experience—not added on. Each week, students take part in occupational and speech therapy, either one-on-one or in small groups, to strengthen essential skills in ways that feel approachable and empowering.

Our behavior support team brings a wide range of expertise and works hand-in-hand with teachers to create individualized plans that help students overcome challenges and build confidence.

Every student also receives a personalized sensory plan designed to keep them regulated, engaged, and ready to learn—so they can truly shine in the classroom and beyond.
