Academics
Academic instruction is based on the Ohio Department of Education Learning Standards. Our program’s small class sizes and low teacher:student ratios enable teachers to provide individualized instruction and encourage active participation for every child.
Linden Grove School uses research-based education and intervention programs proven to increase student achievement at all grade levels. Our educators are experts in delivering quality instruction to students using traditional academic curriculums, as well as intervention programs such as Orton-Gillingham, TouchMath, and Lindamood-Bell. Our program provides specialty STEAM courses including coding, robotics, and LEGO® education to inspire creativity and promote critical thinking skills in our students.
Our program provides students with opportunities to become more active and empathetic members of society. Students are given opportunities to participate in annual service-learning projects, engage with our school’s community garden space, and participate in multicultural lessons and activities. Through these experiences, we hope to support our students’ growth into becoming compassionate citizens, as well as form a community that embraces individuals with different backgrounds, values, and points of view.
The Applied Skills program available for 6th-8th grade students helps prepare students to live independently. Students are provided with engaging and hands-on learning experiences designed to promote successful transitions into adulthood. Students within this program are introduced to concepts related to budgeting, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and becoming active community members.
